The very first point to notice is that the rain and fog -- it doesn't have any effect on gameplay as most of the activity in
R6 Items takes place indoors, but it is moody and atmospheric. A few changes into the outside allow attackers a few valuable sightlines into the building from outside, with Shooting Range spawn now appearing to offer whole perspective of the the North face of this construction. The monitoring ramp is a whole lot closer, also, so it won't just be operators such as Glaz who can provide overwatch. The West side of the building remains practically untouched by the outside, with the garage exactly where it had been previously, breachable all.
To compensate for this, you will find a couple extra balconies and staircases on the exterior the construction for attackers to breach through.
Inside you'll likely feel very lost. There are currently two staircases rather than one, so defenders can properly ramble between floors and attackers are less inclined to receive stalled in such chokepoints. The best floor and basement would be the largest departures from the first map, with all the top floor currently holding a tractor in one massive, open space, while the cellar has been littered with little rooms, tight angles, and entrances. The top floor is absolutely disorderly to hold as a defender, due to the lack of cover and amount of windows looking in, but attackers can readily be punished run-outs in the floor beneath. The basement will need a really strong hold from the floor above -- the prevalence of destructible flooring are the secret to winning this site.
Ubisoft skimmed through them throughout the Grim Sky reveal panel in the Six Important Paris, so here are the other Grim Sky changes in case you missed them.
An surprise map buff has been made to one of the very popular and aggressive Rainbow Six Siege maps, Consulate. The changes themselves are amazingly slight: several exterior walls have been moved around to stop spawn peeking, a fourth bomb website was inserted in Tellers/Archives, and also the map has been prettied up with a few new textures. The fourth bomb website is an interesting addition, since Archives is traditionally the easiest site to hold on Secure Area, having to maintain both Archives and the considerably trickier Tellers should make this a very competitive bomb
Official Website.
Last year gave us a fairly handsome Thatcher Elite skin so that we kind of expected to find a new Elite skins statement for Grim Sky, but few expected one as trendy as the Frost Elite skin.
